On July 2, Schreiner University and Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary (PUTS) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic and educational cooperation. This agreement marks an important milestone in our growing international engagement and builds upon the relationships established during Schreiner University’s Presidential Delegation visit to South Korea last March.
Founded in 1901 by the pioneering American Presbyterian missionary Rev. Samuel A. Moffett, PUTS has long been one of Korea’s leading institutions for theological education. Rooted in this shared Presbyterian heritage, the relationship between Schreiner University and PUTS continues to grow through a common commitment to holistic education, academic excellence, and global engagement.
Through this partnership, our institutions will expand opportunities for student and internship exchanges, collaborative teaching and research, faculty development, and the sharing of academic resources, strengthening educational and theological connections between the United States and South Korea.
My sincere gratitude goes to President Dr. Gyeungsu Park and the entire leadership team at PUTS for their outstanding cooperation, gracious hospitality, and thoughtful preparation in making this signing ceremony such a meaningful success.
Looking ahead, there is a shared openness to exploring potential areas of collaboration with Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. This reflects a growing alignment among institutions committed to Presbyterian higher education and theological formation across the United States and South Korea. I look forward to continuing to support these emerging possibilities as we seek to strengthen connections that serve our students, faculty, and broader academic mission.
